Code of Ethics for Reiki Practitioners and Teachers of the Panhellenic Reiki Association. Understanding, applying, and observing the five Reiki principles:

- Absolute respect for every student and for their personality.
- Respect for Reiki and its history.
- We respect our own endurance and boundaries, as well as the endurance and boundaries of others. We respect our time and the time of others.
- Training students to take responsibility for themselves and their choices.
- Cultivating tolerance, acceptance, and receptivity.
- Teaching with love.
- Teaching with responsibility.
- Teaching with truth: we do not spread lies, inaccuracies, or myths. We keep our eyes and mind open and avoid dogmatic attachment.
- We never teach seminars unless we have received full Reiki training. We do not call ourselves Reiki teachers unless we have completed the teacher level.
- When teaching Reiki, we are clear about what our teaching includes. We do not confuse Usui Reiki with unrelated philosophies or systems.
- We inform the student in advance about exactly what they will receive in each degree.
- We do not promise things we cannot deliver.
- We do not promise any kind of cure, only relaxation.
- We always clarify what Reiki is and what Reiki is not.
- We do not create secrecy, mystification, or curiosity around Reiki and the degrees.
- We do not speak negatively about other Reiki teachers or practitioners.
- We do not speak negatively about medicine, psychology, or the people who serve these fields.
- We always emphasize that Reiki is complementary to medical and psychological diagnosis and treatment and never replaces them.
- We clarify that Reiki is not a religion and has no fixed beliefs or rules.
- We do not exploit students financially.
- We do not exploit students emotionally.
- We do not exploit students sexually.
- We never insult students and we practice good manners.
- We never close another person's path. We open it, offer choices, and respect freedom.
- We treat others as we wish to be treated: with respect, understanding, love, and freedom.
- We treat students as people who wish to learn, heal, and evolve, not as customers.
- We do not enter negative discussions about students, practitioners, teachers, systems, or philosophies.
- We emphasize the positive contribution of every student, practitioner, teacher, and system.
- We teach unconditional love and become an example of it.
- We teach forgiveness and become an example of it.
- We try to improve our lives daily and become better on every level.
- We understand that our healing is an ongoing process.
- We understand that we do not know everything and remain willing to learn.
- We do not judge someone without knowing them and we do not spread gossip.
- We become examples of kindness, light, love, respect, and gratitude.
- We understand that no one is perfect: neither our teachers, our students, nor ourselves.
- We are always willing to help, support, and guide the student.
- We are always willing to help, support, and guide our teacher.
- We respect everyone in the Reiki field and aim for harmony, unity, and cooperation.
- We do not enter competition. We speak positively about others, encourage them, and support them.
- We are willing to recognize and heal malicious criticism, jealousy, anger, dishonesty, and any other negative feeling in ourselves.
- We do not use material for which we have not received permission. We respect copyright and the work of others.
- We encourage students to use their own wisdom and intuition.
- We always empower and encourage students.
- We do not pressure situations or people to receive Reiki sessions or degrees.
- We avoid calling people our students forever, because we are all students and teachers of one another.
- We do not enter arguments with people who accuse Reiki, nor do we try to prove something.
- We understand that we are always students as well as teachers.
- We respect the spiritual and religious choices of others.
- We never diagnose, recommend medication, or interfere in medical or psychological matters.
- We remain clean and observe hygiene rules before seminars, meetings, and sessions.
- We give Reiki sessions with love, care, responsibility, and respect, without exaggeration or promises.
- We always practice Reiki over clothing.
- We remain simple and humble.
- Each day we try to become the person and teacher we wish to be.
- We work daily for the Highest Good of All.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Reiki is always practiced over clothing. It does not include touching areas that may make the receiver uncomfortable, nor caressing. The practitioner’s hands are lifted when changing position. Reiki touch is pure, warm, and discreet. Reiki includes no religion, dogma, color, or race.
